3 Daily Routines to Reconsider

Life’s special events like a promotion at work, graduation, or a birthday are often the moments we make resolutions for the upcoming year. We all know that making resolutions is good but we don’t follow them because it takes constant effort to keep up with these resolutions. However, there is an easier way to keep our goals: creating a daily routine. Here are 3 daily routines you should reconsider if you want some changes in your life:

Set the Alarm a Few Minutes Early

Waking up earlier than necessary is something many people do: According to a study commissioned by Sleep Number, almost half of Americans sleep an hour or less past their intended wake-up time on weekdays. But if you want to feel more energized and productive throughout the day, consider setting your alarm a few minutes early to give yourself some additional time in bed. Not only will this allow you to wake up more slowly with fewer groggy moments (which makes getting out of bed easier), but it can also give you some extra time to think before tackling your morning routine.

Have Some Fruit Before Lunch

Grab some fruit right when you wake up. Fruit is filled with essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help keep your brain sharp and your body functioning properly. It also provides a great deal of fiber, which helps to keep your digestive system healthy.

A study from the Journal of Nutrition found that eating an apple every day can reduce the risk of diabetes by as much as 21 percent. Eating a banana every day can reduce blood pressure by about five points, which can help to lower the risk of heart disease. Apples are rich in quercetin, an antioxidant shown to slow down the aging process in cells, while bananas contain high levels of potassium and vitamin B6, two nutrients that are essential for preventing depression and boosting brain activity.

Try incorporating some fruit into your morning routine by adding it to a protein shake or smoothie or snack on it before you eat anything else!

Eat in Smaller Plates

The largest plates are so large that they encourage over-eating. Eating too much food will make you gain a lot of weight and even lead to obesity. The bigger the plate is, the more food you can fit on it and the more calories you will consume. Try to eat on smaller plates to control your food portion and also to keep yourself from eating too much food which will make you gain weight.

There are a lot of ways you can cut down your portion size and make it look attractive at the same time. One way is by using smaller plates. You can try using salad plates for your main course dishes instead of dinner ones, this will give you ample space for the food you need plus making it look pretty on top of that! Make sure not to put too much food on your plate, because then it will be hard for you to finish everything and it might result in overeating.

Takeaway

We all have our daily routines and most of them don’t get the attention they deserve. Habits are an important part of life because they help us to save time, stay on schedule and get our jobs done. But sometimes these routines can hurt us more than they help. We all need to shake things up every once in a while and push ourselves out of our comfort zones so that we can grow.
